A nice mosque for the muslin community, a place to pray and listen to preachers. Every time they bring a new imam to give khotba and derss and nassiha. A clean and new place. A cafeteria in place. What I don’t like about this mosque is women and men are mixed outside the mussala, in corridors and at the cafeteria this is not a sunnah, hope aware people. In general I like the atmosphere.
Masjid is very good, well maintained. It has a lot of parking space, an indoor basketball court. Men and Women pray at the same time, many ethnicity and different countries people pray same time. Peacefull and very good atmosphere.
Beautiful masjid. Nikah services, counseling services and community building activities available here. Sisters Farah and Sohaira were very helpful. They actually respond via email, phone and website (which is not always the case with mosques). It's great to see such a well organized institution in the Northern VA area.
Great mosque. Love this Muslim worship place. Plenty of parking. Men and women have plenty of seating. For being should there aswell. Kids Sunday schools aswell.
Pay them $150 and get an Islamic stamp on your civil divorce decree. No questions asked, nothing else required no matter what the situation is, just pay $150. Won’t even explain how this makes it islamic except it is their policy!
Basically a trade: they want 150 bucks and any civil divorce certificate from any court in the us and they will give you an Islamic divorce certificate whether it’s compliant with sharia’ or not (unless civil divorce = Islamic divorce, but then why would anyone care about Islamic divorce if the civil one already existed then- they won’t explain that).
Good to have policies and to follow them , however, as an Islamic entity, policies has to follow Islamic rulings, and they should either provide full service that is completely sharia’ compliant and have a good reasoning behind it or not provide anything at all in a certain matter.
Great private school in the DMV area. If you want your generations to thrive in the US - then this is it! No joke 😎 …
Clean masjid.
The staff are mostly nice.
Some of the younger ones are too nice.
A girl came to Qahwah cafe with very short shorts, and no one bothered to mention the dress code to her.
I support inclusive spaces but enforcing a basic dress code is reasonable for most humans. Most Christians I know wouldn’t wear short shorts to church. So being too open minded is unnecessary and shows a lack of respect for the Muslim community members who come to the mosque and Qahwah cafe because it’s a safe space and one wouldn’t want to be exposed to anyone (girl or boy) showing their awrah.
One would hope for improvement given that this is an agreed upon by scholars and in line with the divine law we follow.
